2022 Celebrating 25 Years of the £2 – Silver Proof Piedfort Coin
Celebrate a quarter of a century of the United Kingdom’s familiar bi-metallic £2 coin with this magnificent 2022 Silver Proof Piedfort £2, struck by The Royal Mint.
The design revisits Bruce Rushin’s original Technology reverse, first introduced on the £2 coin in 1997, with intricate concentric patterns representing the progress of technology through history. A special anniversary feature marks 25 years of the modern £2. The obverse carries Jody Clark’s definitive portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
This substantial 24g Piedfort is struck in .925 sterling silver, with fine gold plating on the outer ring for the distinctive two-tone finish. The beautiful Proof finish and double-thickness format make this a standout addition to a British coin collection.
